Fibria participates in forums and dialogues at the municipal, state and national levels, as well as participating in international forums, such as the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the Ethos Institute for Business and Social Responsibility.
The Forests Dialogue (TFD)
Fibria has been a member of The Forests Dialogue (TFD) since 2005. The TFD is an international organization that promotes dialogue on forest issues and includes in its ranks the representatives of major forestry companies, NGOs, inter-governmental institutions, trade unions and universities.
Forest Dialogue for the Atlantic Forest
Fibria participates in the Forest Dialogue for the Atlantic Forest, an entity comprising the representatives environmental NGOs, forestry sector companies, universities and research centers, that was set up in 2005 to discuss matters relating to the use of forest resources and the conservation of biodiversity, with a particular focus on the Atlantic Forest biome.
Regional Forest Dialogues
One of the principal topics of discussion in the Espírito Santo Forest Forum is sponsored forest partnerships.
The Forest Forum for the South and Far South of Bahia has been in existence since 2005 and has developed guidelines for sponsored forest partnerships, which are being used as a benchmark by other forums.
The Forest Forum for the state of São Paulo has been functioning since 2008 and its priorities are:
- Landscape Planning;
- Socio-environmental Management;
- Forest Partnerships;
- Conservation in Privately-owned Areas;
- Water, Forests and Biodiversity;
- Public Policies.
