In Bahia, Fibria maintains 65,000 hectares of native forests and 99,000 hectares of eucalyptus plantations, managed to supply wood to Espírito Santo and the lumber yard the company has a 1/3 stake in with Weyerhaeuser.
Part of the wood that supplies the Aracruz Mill in Espírito Santo State is transported by ship from the Caravelas port, 295 km from Portocel.
The company also maintains the Veracel project in the State, a joint venture with the Swedish/Finnish group Stora Enso. Veracel has about 92,000 hectares of eucalyptus plantations and over 114,000 hectares of environmentally protected area.
