Our very name is a pointer to the essence of the company’s business – wood fibers from renewable plantations – and this is also a quality that is common to the stories of the two original companies, which were written with determined and consistent strokes.
Our symbol, in the shape of a leaf, with green as the predominant color, represents the forests.
Our reason for being
The impressive result of the union of two great Brazilian companies that are major players in the global forestry based industry. A history stretching back 91 years, in the case of the Votorantim Group, and 43 years for Aracruz, has produced a new company with a combined total of almost 135 years of fertility, in business and in Brazilian life. We have learned as we have grown, and we want to go on learning, always, cultivating constructive relations with all those who have faith in what life holds in store, as we do. More than just growing, we want to see our business develop, and all those who, directly or indirectly, participate in it too. We want to generate profits, healthy profits that are respected by all. The planted forests need to produce economic gains, but they also have to promote human, social and environmental development. That is how we understand and practice the forestry business: as a renewable and sustainable life source. We will always invest in audacious, clean technology, so that nature is able to produce innovative solutions, in terms of quality of life, health and well-being, education and culture. We are proud of our origins, of our roots. Like most Brazilians, we throw ourselves into everything we do, heart and soul. We have the passion, the determination and the energy to drive the business in our economic sector and gain an even bigger share of the world market.
