October 27, 2015 - Fibria’s CEO receives the “O Equilibrista” award

Awarded by the Brazilian Institute of Finance Executives of Espírito Santo (IBEF-ES), this is the most important recognition from the market in Espírito Santo for executives

Aracruz (Espírito Santo) – The CEO of Fibria, Marcelo Castelli, received on October 22 the “O Equilibrista” Award, known as the Oscar of finance executives. Promoted by the Brazilian Institute of Finance Executives of Espírito Santo (IBEF-ES), the award is now in its 19th edition. The award ceremony was held at Itamaraty Hall, in Vitória (ES).

The “O Equilibrista” award symbolizes the victory of an executive that participated effectively and contributed to economic growth in Espírito Santo. According to IBEF-ES, winners were chosen based criteria such as leadership, management of adverse situations, achievement of goals, actions in the social and environmental area and the company’s contribution to strengthening society in Espírito Santo. Fibria, led by Marcelo Castelli, operates its largest unit in Aracruz, in northern Espírito Santo, with three pulp production lines, and also operates in the state through Portocel – the Specialized Barra do Riacho Terminal, the most productive port in the world in pulp handling.

“O Equilibrista” is an institutional award registered with the National School of Fine Arts. The bronze sculpture was created by the sculptor Osni Branco and represents the career challenges and skills of professionals that meet goals under any circumstances.

Profile – A graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Marcelo Castelli has been CEO of Fibria since 2011 and previously worked in Forestry Operations, Sourcing and Paper and Strategy. With more than 27 years’ experience in the pulp and paper segment, he has held leadership positions in production, projects and business areas in major companies in the industry. At Fibria, he led the Integration project, responsible for the conceptual and administrative guidelines of the company created six years ago through the merger of the two major pulp companies in the country.
