December 14, 2016 - Fibria receives A- rating in CDP disclosure platform results

Company is recognized as the leader in Climate and Forest segments for its sustainability and environmental management practices

São Paulo – Fibria, a Brazilian forestry company and the world’s leading eucalyptus pulp producer, has received A- rating in the Climate and Forest results of CDP, an international non-profit organization that provides the largest and most comprehensive environmental disclosure system in the world.

“The information compiled by CDP provides tremendous credibility for the industry in the face of global challenges such as climate changes and environmental conservation. The A rating is a recognition of our leadership in this score. Fibria has always participated voluntarily in CDP and other initiatives as these are renowned transparency channels that directly reach stakeholders interested in data on sustainability, in an organized manner, enabling them to follow the individual evolution of companies and draw comparisons between participating companies,” said João Augusti, Forestry Environment manager at Fibria.

The data reported in 2016 by companies participating in investor-led programs on “Climate Change, Water and Forest” are included in the report prepared in partnership with Gestão Origami presented on December 13 at the CDP Connection 2016 – Natural Capital: the role of each individual.  The report shows the progress made by companies on environmental issues and highlights the risks and opportunities related to climate changes, water security and combating deforestation.

The report also presents the score of companies in relation to the data reported to CDP. This score reveals the progress made by each company, from data disclosure (D- and D), through awareness (C- and C) and management (B- and B), to a leadership stage characterized by the best practices (A and A-).
