InstitutionalHorizonte 2 Project

The Horizonte 2 Project is currently under construction to expand our Três Lagoas Mill, in Mato Grosso do Sul. The new production line will be capable of producing 1.75 million tons of pulp per year, which, together with the currently operational line, will increase the capacity of the Três Lagoas mill to 3.05 million tons of pulp per year, making it one of the largest sites in the world.

With this, Fibria’s total annual pulp production capacity will expand from the current 5.3 million tons to over 7 million tons, consolidating the company as the global leader in eucalyptus pulp production.

Announced in May 2015 after approval from the Company’s Board of Directors, the Horizonte 2 Project is in line with Fibria’s strategy to pursue disciplined growth, which sees a window of opportunity for the commissioning of new pulp production capacity in the market. The new production line is slated for startup in the fourth quarter of 2017.

“We are very proud to announce this major investment in Brazil, which targets the export markets, and will contribute to the country’s balance of trade, create job opportunities, improve quality of life and promote local, regional and national development.” – Marcelo Castelli, CEO of Fibria.
