How we do it

We understand and operate the forestry business as a creator of innovative solutions and essential products for quality of life, health, education and culture, and we work based on experience and trust, focusing on high return projects, aligned with best practices for social environmental responsibility.

Our workforce comprises 15,000 people, including outsourced employees. We operate 6 plants with a production capacity of 5.4 million tons of pulp a year, and we produce around 313,000 tons of thermal, carbonless, printing and writing paper. We have a 50% equity stake in Veracel (a joint venture with Stora Enso), in Bahia, and 50% in Conpacel, the Pulp and Paper Consortium from the State of São Paulo (together with Suzano), in São Paulo. Through the KSR Distribuidora we supply paper and graphic material to around 15,000 clients on the domestic market.

We use road, train and sea transportation to carry wood, pulp and paper, and we are present in the key consuming markets, by means of distribution centers, commercial offices and vendors in North America, Europe and Asia.

In Brazil we support environmental education and protection, professional training and income generation projects, developed with the surrounding communities to our operating units.

Our forestry partnership program comprises 115,000 hectares of renewable plantations which account for an alternative wood source for the company and diversification of land use and income for farmers, helping to generate jobs, wealth and local development.

We have voluntarily joined a number of initiatives in favor of life, such as the Global Compact and the Atlantic Forest Restructuring Pact, and we have been acknowledged by key certification bodies and sustainability ratings: FSC, CERFLOR, the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and the São Paulo Stock Exchange Sustainability Index (ISE BOVESPA).
